What We Do

“The Sky Is My Limit” is a non-profit making organization that renders social services to young adults with varying disability in the Volta Region of Ghana.

Our Vision

At “The Sky Is My Limit”, our vision for Ghana envisions individuals living with varying disabilities seamlessly integrating into Ghanaian communities with independence and a profound sense of self-worth. This twofold vision entails not only witnessing Ghanaians with disabilities transforming their self-perceptions, growing more confident in their capabilities, but also observing Ghanaian culture evolving to embrace and understand individuals living with disabilities.

Our Mission Statement

The “Sky Is My Limit” is dedicated to empowering young adults with varying disabilities by providing essential amenities such as proper housing, gardening space, animal husbandry opportunities, and crafting workspaces at The Sky House and our Women’s Residence. Our mission is to cultivate positive life experiences by nurturing both living and working skills. Through direct engagement with the local Kledzo community in Hohoe, we strive to bridge the gap between rejection and acceptance of individuals with disabilities, fostering dialogue and relationships among community members. Ultimately, our goal is to facilitate the transition of residents at The Sky House into meaningful placements within Ghanaian society, fostering enduring relationships with individuals they’ve encountered along the way.

Our Campaign

The inception and construction of The Sky House in Ghana marked the beginning of The Sky Is My Limit’s journey in 2012. As the first of its kind in Sub-Saharan West Africa, this establishment, encompassing both land and building, embodies the heart of our vision and mission in Ghana. Since its inauguration in 2018, The Sky House has served as a nurturing home for our residents, embodying our commitment to empowerment and inclusivity.

The Impact

Making a positive impact in the lives of young individuals with disabilities significantly contributes to their journey toward relative independence. Take God’s Way, for example—he is a 35-year-old man with intellectual challenges. Raised by a single mother who struggled without employment, he was placed in a special school. At age 25, we transitioned him from the basic school setting to our home, where he has received dedicated care and training. As you can see, he is thriving and making remarkable progress.
